The area of the so-called Mausoleum of Romulus along the ancient Appian Way.
Topographical and analytical study of the archaeological structures.
This research analyses the Mausoleum of Romulus and its Quadriportico, one of the three main components of the Maxentian complex along the Ancient Appian Way in Rome. Through an integrated approach combining autoptic analysis of the masonry, terrestrial and drone-based photogrammetry, GPR surveys, and archival research, a detailed 3D reconstruction was developed. The study proposes a new architectural interpretation aimed at clarifying whether the complex was completed or left unfinished.
