TU Wien, the Vienna University of Technology, is one of the oldest technical universities in the German-speaking area, founded in 1815 by Emperor Franz I of Austria. With 30,000 students and almost 4,800 collaborators, it is nowadays one of the biggest research and education institutions in the scientific and technology field in Austria.
The Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Planning offers the following programmes:

These programmes lead into the central fields of the practice and theory of architecture and spatial planning, they teach the preconditions and approaches in architecture and spatial planning and sensitise for their close connection with cultural, social, artistic, economic and ecological developments. These are critically analysed and realised through design.
