Katta Spiel – Access is what…? / WHOSE BUILDING SCIENCE? Lecture Series

Katta Spiel will present and discuss research and teaching on marginalised perspectives in embodied computing through a lens of Critical Access. Their work informs design and engineering supporting the development of technologies that account for the diverse realities they operate in. In interdisciplinary collaborations with neurodivergent and/or nonbinary peers, Katta conducts explorations of novel potentials for designs, methodologies and innovative technological artefacts.

Dr.x Katta Spiel has been an FWF Hertha-Firnberg Post-Doc and currently holds an assistant professorship for “Critical Access in Embodied
Computing” at the HCI Group of the Vienna University of Technology. They also lead the work of a team within the ERC Starting Grant ACCESSTECH (Experiencing Access with Interactive Technologies).
