On the first admission to a course at an Austrian University, each student is allocated a matriculation number. This 8-digit number will accompany you during your entire studies, regardless of whether and how often you change courses or university. The matriculation number appears in all documents (certificates, student identification, confirmation of study) and has to be presented to any other Austrian university you wish to be admitted to.  

Bachelor programmes: Architecture and Spatial Planning

The admission to the bachelor course in Architecture and Spatial Planning is carried out at the Admission Office:

Master programmes: Architecture and Spatial Planning

Admission to the master’s course requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, or a polytechnic ‒ bachelor’s degree or another equivalent degree from a recognised domestic or foreign post-secondary educational institution.

Language Skills

The precondition for the admission to the Architecture and Spatial Planning courses (both bachelor and master programmes) is an adequate knowledge of German to level B2/2 (after GERS).

Master programme Building Science and Technology

The Building Science and Technology master programme at TU Wien is addressed to students who wish to deepen their knowledge in building science and technology and want to acquire the necessary tools for planning, methods and skills for independent research and planning activities in the field of the built environment.

The master’s course lasts four terms (corresponding to 120 ECTS) and is held in English. If applicable, additional exams can be prescribed on admission.
