Gastvortrag Anna Dobrova und Anna Pashynska von METALAB

We would like to cordially invite you to the upcoming guest lecture series for this summer semester. 
 
Next week TUESDAY, the 20th of May, at 6pm, we are most pleased to host an online presentation by 
Anna Dobrova and Anna Pashynska from METALAB. 
 
Anna Dobrova is a researcher, architect, and urban practitioner with a strong background in socially oriented architecture. She studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Kyiv and the Technical University of Vienna, gaining experience working with architectural and urban planning bureaus in both Ukraine and Austria. Her interest in socially responsible design led her to focus on curatorial work, educational workshops, art and urban interventions, and participatory action research. Anna is a co-founder of several grassroots institutions in Ukraine, including the NGO MistoDiya, METALAB, and the Charitable Foundation "CO-HATY." Since 2024, she has been leading the implementation of social housing humanitarian projects in partnership with UNHCR. Since moving to Basel in 2022, Anna has been involved with the Swiss Network with Ukraine at ETH and the NGO Re-Win, which promotes the reuse of building materials. Her work centers on supporting grassroots organizations to create inclusive, sustainable, and comfortable living environments.

Anna Pashynska is the co-founder and curator of the METALAB city laboratory, the CO-HATY affordable housing project, and the POLE Research and Product Design Center. She has over ten years of work experience in Ukraine and Austria as a curator, project manager, urban planner, and designer. Anna manages various projects, specialising in spatial research and design, product design, public space projects, initiated communities, and institutional planning.

Wir freuen uns, Sie zu der kommenden Gastvorlesung in diesem Sommersemester am 20. Mai um 18 Uhr einladen zu dürfen. Sie wird von Anna Dobrova and Anna Pashynska von METALAB abgehalten. 
 
Anna Dobrova ist Forscherin, Architektin und Stadtplanerin mit einem starken Hintergrund in sozial orientierter Architektur. Sie studierte an der National Academy of Fine Arts in Kiew und an der Technischen Universität Wien und sammelte Erfahrungen in Architektur- und Stadtplanungsbüros sowohl in der Ukraine als auch in Österreich. Ihr Interesse an sozial verantwortlichem Design führte dazu, dass sie sich auf kuratorische Arbeit, Bildungsworkshops, Kunst- und Stadtinterventionen und partizipative Aktionsforschung konzentrierte. Anna ist Mitbegründerin mehrerer Basisinstitutionen in der Ukraine, darunter die NGO MistoDiya, METALAB und die gemeinnützige Stiftung „CO-HATY“. Seit 2024 leitet sie die Umsetzung von humanitären Projekten im sozialen Wohnungsbau in Zusammenarbeit mit dem UNHCR. Seit ihrem Umzug nach Basel im Jahr 2022 engagiert sich Anna für das Schweizer Netzwerk mit der Ukraine an der ETH und die NGO Re-Win, die die Wiederverwendung von Baumaterialien fördert. Ihre Arbeit konzentriert sich auf die Unterstützung von Basisorganisationen, um inklusive, nachhaltige und komfortable Lebensumgebungen zu schaffen.
 
Anna Pashynska ist Mitbegründerin und Kuratorin des Stadtlabors METALAB, des Projekts CO-HATY für erschwinglichen Wohnraum und des Forschungs- und Produktdesignzentrums POLE.Sie hat über zehn Jahre Berufserfahrung in der Ukraine und Österreich als Kuratorin, Projektmanagerin, Stadtplanerin und Designerin.Anna leitet verschiedene Projekte mit den Schwerpunkten Raumforschung und -design, Produktdesign, Projekte im öffentlichen Raum, initiierte Gemeinschaften und institutionelle Planung.
