Best Teaching Awards 2026 – Two Awards for the Faculty

10/15/2026

On October 15, 2026, the Best Teaching Awards were presented for the tenth time in the Kuppelsaal at TU Wien. As in previous years, awards were given for Best Teacher and Best Lecture. The Awareness in Teaching Award, presented for the first time this year, recognized courses that focused on diversity-conscious, inclusive, and student-centered teaching practices. Each prize is worth €5,000 and can be used by the winners to support their teaching.

Once again this year, the event was opened by Rector Jens Schneider. A brief video retrospective on 10 years of the Best Teaching Awards was followed by welcoming remarks from Vice Rector Jasmin Gründling-Riener: “It is a special pleasure for me to be here on the occasion of the 10th anniversary to once again celebrate our outstanding teaching with the winners, awardees, members of the TU Wien community, and students, and to look back on the 10-year success story of the Best Teaching Awards as part of this event.”

Two awards for the Faculty of Architecture and  Planning

Our faculty received awards in both the “Best Lecture” and “Best Teacher” categories.
