Admission procedure

For the bachelor's degree in architecture, 500 places are allocated in the winter semester and 125 in the summer semester. The allocation of study places takes place within the framework of a two-stage selection procedure in the first semester.
The prerequisite for participation in the selection process is online registration in TU's Campus Software TISS.
The online registration is carried out once a year before the start of the winter semester and is valid for the winter semester and the following summer semester.
The second stage of the selection procedure is offered in the winter semester and in the summer semester and must be completed in the semester specified in the online registration and in which the admission was also carried out.

Online registration starts on Monday, April 1^st, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. and ends on Wednesday, June 5^th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

After a formal review of all submissions, it will be decided whether there will be a placement test for the bachelor's degree in architecture. The sighting will take place at the beginning of July.

Please pay the fee, which will be confirmed by TISS by Wednesday, June 5^th, 2024.

If required, the architecture ranking test will take place on Wednesday, August 21^st, 2024.

By enrolling in a group for the orientation course and contemporary architecture exercise, you are automatically registered for the other exercises in the first semester (drawing and visual language and descriptive geometry). You need a matriculation number to register in TISS, ie. they must already be enrolled. Please keep this in mind with regard to the registration deadline for the course.

Persons who have been admitted to the bachelor's program in architecture (study reference number 033 243) at the TU Vienna for the academic year 24/25 and persons who have to repeat both parts of the orientation course (i.e. part orientation course and part contemporary architecture) please report to the regular groups ( A1-a-E 20-b) for the LVA orientation course and contemporary architecture.

If only one of the two parts is missing, please register in the group intended for the missing part.

People who only want to start their studies in the summer semester do not have to register for the LVA orientation course and contemporary architecture until the summer semester (see below).

“Orientation course and contemporary architecture! Is an introductory and compulsory course at the beginning of the first semester. It consists of an intensive workshop week (October 2nd, 2023-October 6th, 2023), which starts in small groups in presence with the part orientation course and is then continued weekly over the semester with the part contemporary architecture.

Registration for the groups in TISS starts on Monday, August 26^th, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. and ends on September 23^th, 2024.
