A number of conditions must be met for students to successfully complete their master studies and be granted the German academic title “Diplomingenieur” (MSc).

For registering for the master exam there is a one-week deadline (during the office hours) by which the master exam protocol and at the same time follows the announcement of the 2nd and 3rd examiners (actual acceptance is essential).

If your master examination report has already reached the deanery, the advanced reservation can be done by telephone as well. All candidates that enroll/assign within a one week deadline will be permitted for the master examination, which means there is no participant limitation.

With this “advanced reservation” you agree that you are able to attend the following master exam/registration, which means that it is not possible to cancel the arranged date.

Following criteria have to be paid attention to choosing the 2nd and 3rd examiners:

  • The examiners have to be part of different departments, different examination subjects and should be preferred from the faculty of architecture and planning.
  • If one of the examiners is an assistant with doctorate or an external examiner you will need a special approval of the dean of study (max. one assistant or external examiner).
  • These have to be approved by the dean of study at least three weeks before the diploma exam.
  • Within the request “Master thesis” (to be handed in at the beginning of the diploma thesis (see point 1) follows the entry of the 2nd and 3rd examiners, which is also possible by telephone and will be forwarded to the dean of study.

Through the request “Master thesis” (to be handed in by the start of the diploma thesis, see point 2) the entry of the second and third examiners takes place, this can be done also by phone and will be mediated to the dean of studies

3.Registration for the master examination
