Cooperations

28. July 2016

A significant indicator for the competitive, transformational potential of the arts and sciences is the active integration of researchers and students in international collaborations and networks. These are meaningfully enhanced through active faculty memberships in European and other international societies.

The vibrant connection of research and teaching forms the primary challenge and motivation. New knowledge gained through research thus immediately informs instruction in the faculty, whereby students actively participate in the research process. International cooperation agreements always include all areas of the discipline: curriculum, individual studies, and research.

Support and reinforcement of transdisciplinary as well as international relationships are thus especially important to the Faculty of Architecture and Planning at the Vienna University of Technology. The faculty maintains bilateral agreements with universities from a number of different countries for the purpose of collaborative research and teaching.

Principal connections are maintained in connection with universites in Chinese, Southeast Asian, and Ukrainian regions, as well as with Austrian research institutions (e.g., Holzforschung Austria, Arsenal Research, etc.) and industry partners in conjunction with research projects of VUT.
