With a currently active total of approximately 4000 students, the Faculty of Architecture and Regional Planning is the second largest of eight faculties at the Vienna University of Technology.Together with the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, it is among the oldest architecture schools in Austria.

We distinguish ourselves in Austria through the unique combination of architecture and regional planning in one common faculty.  We guarantee education that is tailored to the demands of professional practice and research that meets the highest standards of academic scholarship.

The new development plan relates ideas and advances at the Vienna Universityof Technology and anticipates future developments. With our dual fields ofstudy in architecture and spatial planning, the faculty contributes todevelopments in design and controlling processes of the built environment atall legally significant planning levels and thus has the mission andpotential to advance the discourse from both the artistic-architectural andthe strategic-planning perspective. The faculty members are aware that VUTis also distinguished by its attractive central location in urban Vienna andin its position within the extended regional context. Such advantageousconditions afford the opportunity to provide an especially engaging range ofeducational focuses in our programme offerings.

As one of the most renowned study, research, and teaching institutions inCentral Europe, we strive to accomplish our declared mission throughresearch-driven teaching and practice-oriented training. The two bachelor, three master, and two doctoral programmes of academic study offered by thefaculty prepare our students to assume positions of responsibility inbusiness, society, and higher education.
